It helps more than you'd think. We used to have cheap, thin mats at the main entrance. On wet days, it was a nightmare—water everywhere, constant mopping, and a few close calls with slips. We eventually upgraded to heavy-duty entrance mats designed for schools and universities (like the ones you see here: nzmats.co.nz/collections/schools-universities). My workload near the entrance dropped by half, and we haven't had a slip report there since.
