Both ZIP and RAR formats have their pros and cons. Personally I prefer ZIP because it is widely supported across all operating systems and does not require special skill to extract. The RAR files usually offer better compression and can handle larger archives easily. Many users convert between ZIP and RAR formats depending on compatibility and compression needs. For example, if you want to share files easily ZIP works best while RAR is perfect for storing large backups. I use Softaken Archive Converter Software because it quickly converts between ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR and other archive formats without data loss making file conversion much simpler and faster.
