Understanding how to check EC online isn’t as difficult as it may seem. You just need to visit the TNREGINET portal of the Tamil Nadu Government. There, you can select “E-services” in the top menu and navigate to “Encumbrance Certificate”. Just select the view EC to check EC online. You can choose your zone and district from the dropdown and provide EC start and end dates, along with village/area name, survey number, and subdivision number. So, you must have important documents, such as the property's survey number, subdivision number, village name, and Sub-Registrar Office (SRO) jurisdiction, before checking EC online.

Once you feed in the necessary details and click search, you can easily access the EC certificate. The EC contains information, such as sales, mortgages, or gifts; a blank report signals a non-encumbered property.
