Montessori is an early learning pedagogy that was started by Dr.Maria Montessori, that focusses on exposing the children to a variety of activities. These are broadly divided into Activities of Practical Life, Sensorial Activities, Language and Math. Montessori activities focus a lot on movement; Fine motor and gross motor.
Kindergarten Focusses on an approach based on playing, singing, practical activities such as drawing, and social interaction as part of the transition from home to school.
In Montessori, the focus is on the child while in Kindergarten, the focus is on the teacher-led activity. The Montessori classroom has a multi-age group while the Kindergarten class has children of the same age group.
