There are three different types of car haulers you should know about. These are:
1. Open car haulers
Open car haulers are the stereotypical image of car haulers that most of us have in our minds. They’re open metal frames that can transport pretty much every type of car. Cars can drive up the ramp onto the hauler or be winched up. As it’s ‘open’, you can see the cars as they’re being transported. 2. Enclosed car haulers
Enclosed car haulers are the opposite of open car haulers in that the cars are completely enclosed in the trailer. This protects them from the weather and also enables them to be transported more discreetly.
Enclosed car haulers can be either single-level or multi-level. Multi-level car haulers are just like open car haulers except they’re enclosed. You can stack multiple cars in one trailer. Single-level enclosed car haulers are low to the ground enabling cars to be loaded more easily, but can usually hold fewer cars.
3. Single-unit car haulers
Single-unit car haulers are often referred to as tow trucks. They can transport only 1 car at a time and are much smaller. They’re typically only used for short distances.
