Despite the harsh name and stocky demeanor, bulldogs make exceptional family pets. A species ability to become a good family pet can often boil down to how well it is trained; however, bulldogs are a particularly easy pet to keep. While each breed is slightly different, they all exhibit multiple personality traits conducive to raising kids and maintaining a happy home. It is likely their natural personalities that make them such pleasant pets.
Bulldogs typically have a very sweet and gentle nature about them. Their behavior is usually predictable, and even as they are a very dependable breed. These breeds show a loving, caring, and protective nature towards children and are very social breeds that enjoy an abundance of human attention. Though they typically get along very well with other family pets, it is not unheard of for bulldogs to become aggressive with passing or unfamiliar dogs. As always, with newborns or very small children, exercise what you determine to be an appropriate amount of caution.
