Here are some things you can do to minimize air pollution in your home:

  1. Declutter your home: More items mean more objects for dust and pet dander to stick to. If there are items you no longer need and you think they’re a magnet for dust, dirt, and pet dander, it might be best to get rid of those items.
  2. No smoking: Cigarette smoke lingers in the air long after the person stops smoking so as much as possible, make sure your home is a no-smoking zone.
  3. Do not mask odors: For many people, the quick fix to cooking odors and other unpleasant smells is to use heavily scented room sprays. While these may mask the unpleasant smell, the particles from the spray will stay in the air and cause allergic reactions.
  4. Keep the room well-ventilated: Instead of going heavy on the sprays, why not open all windows to allow air to circulate? You can also turn on exhaust fans and electric fans to keep the air flowing.

You can also use air quality monitors to keep track of air quality. Visit HomeAirAdvisor.com to help you find the best Air Quality Monitors for your home.
