If you are talking about a new friend then you can insist on paying every time and if he or she agrees.
But if this is an old friend, then you can share the amount or say I'll pay next time.
Exchange any goods or services or even gifts, is also a good idea.

If your friend has less income then you should consider paying every time.

I don't think I need to pay every time even if my income is higher than theirs but my income isn't high anyway . I think it's right for each person to pay for their own meal because that way no one will feel like they are being greedy or taken advantage of . Thanks for the advice.
